FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: - What are the basic minimum requirements necessary to operate the sawmill? What advantages the sawmill would have to include the additional accessories?
A: - Usually the basic sawmill includes a sawdust fan, sharpening machine and the power transmission device. Also a saw blades package, blade tools and a set of spare parts are included. KARA has a good choice of additional accessories, from log feeding equipment to handling of sawn lumber. The objective of the additional accessories is to make the sawyer´s work lighter and easier by allowing the heavy work stages to be done hydraulically.
Q: - What working temperatures are possible for KARA?
A: - Basically whenever a man is able to work the KARA mill will operate, i.e. in temperatures between –20 °C and +30 °C.
Q: - What is the maximum possible diameter of log on a KARA mill?
A: - The ideal log diameter for a KARA saw is 100 - 600 mm, maximum 650 mm. For bigger logs we recommend the Topsaw to be included.
Q: - What is the maximum length of log on a F2000 ?
A: - For standard KARA mill the minimum log length is 1.5 m and maximum length appr. 7.5 m. Note that F2000 has a through-running table which makes it possible to saw logs that are longer than the table.
Q: - What is the capacity of KARA sawmill in a 8 hours´ shift?
A: - The output is appr. 1 – 1.5 cbm of sawn lumber per working hour, which corresponds to 2 – 3 cbm of logs (round wood). The output varies according to the species of wood and most of all, the professional skill of the operator.
Q: - Does your machine work with hardwood?
A: - Yes, hardwood is OK, but we recommend the water cooling system for the blade to be included.
Q: - We have a lot of big logs. What is the maximum possible sawblade diameter?
A: - The maximum possible blade diameter is 1100 mm. However, we recommend 950-1000 mm blades, as the bigger the diameter gets the more demanding will the blade maintenance be. The good condition of blade is the single most important thing for successful sawing.
Q: - Are the sawblades available in Carbide?
A: - Yes.
Q: - How does your sawmill work with Eucalyptus?

A: - All KARA sawmills carry a CE declaration of conformity to the strict European union safety standards. In fact, KARA was the pioneer in developing the circular sawmills to the direction of safety at work and ergonomics.
